Yate & District Archaeology Group or YADAG is a new archaeological group for the Yate area based at Yate & District Heritage Centre. We are already going from strength to strength with around 50 members.

YADAG's Archaeological Work

The basic role of YADAG is to record the archaeological heritage of the Yate area in its many forms.

Our part of South Gloucestershire is blessed with a myriad of unrecorded and sometimes threatened historic sites ranging from Roman bath houses to coal mining remains.

In conjunction with the South Gloucestershire Council archaeologist, as part of YADAG budding archaeologists will have access to state of the art equipment and receive expert training from trained personnel.
