Medieval Archaeology and History Day

Medieval Archaeology and History Day. Discover the world of Magna carta and Agincourt in our family archaeology day. There will be many hands on activities including dressing a knight, plus Medieval archery, sword fighting, archery, Medieval writing and the chance to see Medieval life and crafts in the late Medieval period.

Yate Archaeology Group will also give the opportunity to undertake some archaeological recording and welcome you to become involved in  local archaeology.

11.30am Medieval Storyteller, 12.30 Earl of Leicester Performance 1.15pm Medieval Storyteller, 2.15 Earl of Leicester Performance 3pm Medieval Storyteller.

Visitors are invited to bring in their archaeological finds and history objects whether ancient or modern for identification. The gloucestershire portable Antiquities Scheme will be on hand to answer your enquiries. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Yate Archaeological Group and become more involved in local archaeology. Identifications will take place between 11am and 2pm.
